Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of northfiles. By using the service, you agree to them. If you use northfiles on behalf of an organisation, you agree on its behalf.

Your account

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials and API tokens secure and for all activity under your account. Let us know promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.

Your content

You keep all rights to the files you upload. You grant us only the permissions needed to store, process and deliver them as part of the service.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use northfiles to store or distribute content that is illegal, infringes the rights of others, or contains malware, and not to interfere with the service or other users. We may suspend accounts that break these rules.

Plans and payment

Paid plans are billed in advance for each billing period. Plan limits are described on the pricing page. If usage regularly exceeds your plan, we will contact you to agree on a suitable plan.

Availability

We work hard to keep northfiles running smoothly, but the service is provided “as is” and we cannot guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Current status is shown on the status page.

Cancellation

You can cancel at any time. After cancellation you will have time to export your files before they are deleted. We may terminate accounts that seriously or repeatedly violate these terms.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, northfiles is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify account owners of material changes by email before they take effect.
